Growing guide

Sowing

For early spring crop: sow indoors 5–7 weeks before last expected frost and transplant outside 3 weeks before last spring frost. Protect spring plantings with row covers to discourage cabbage loopers. For fall crop: sow directly in garden 3 months before first expected frost. Cover seed with 1/4" fine soil.

Thinning

Thin plants to 18" apart in rows 24" apart. Enjoy young leaves from thinning in salads.

Germination

7–10 days depending on soil and weather conditions. Keep evenly moist but not continually wet.

Remarks

Compact enough for small gardens or containers. Stores better than any other early cabbage tested. Heads hold well in the garden before splitting.
