🌱Sowing

Sow seed outdoors as early in the spring as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 12 inches apart, spacing seed ½ inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds begin to grow.

✂️Thinning

When plants are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin to 2 inches apart in the row.

⏱Germination

Carrot is very slow to germinate, requiring up to 3 to 4 weeks depending on soil and temperature conditions.

📋Remarks

Some gardeners like to soak the seed a few hours before planting to aid germination. Plant radish seeds in the row with carrots. The radishes will sprout quickly to mark the row and mature before the carrots get too large.
