Growing guide
- Sowing
Plant seed outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Rows 18 inches apart, spacing seeds 1 inch apart. Cover with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to grow. May be planted as late as mid-June.
- Thinning
When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin or transplant 10 to 12 inches apart.
- Germination
Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
- Remarks
Rich in vitamins A and C. Blanch by tying outer leaves together three weeks before harvest.
