Five-Spot (Nemophila maculata)
Annual — Height 4 to 6 Inches Five Spot, also called Buffalo Eyes, is a low-growing colorful wildflower native to the United States. It can be found growing naturally along woodlands, by roadsides, and in meadows. The bright white, one-inch flowers are shaped like buttercups.

- Sowing
Direct sow after all danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds onto the surface of the soil and compress firmly but don’t cover, as seeds require sunlight to germinate. Plants grow best with adequate moisture and will thrive in full sun to shade. Keep plants well weeded in the early growth stage so they can get established. Water regularly, especially in hot, dry weather.

When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 6 inches apart.
- Germination
Germinates in 7 to 21 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
- Remarks
Attracts pollinators and hummingbirds. Great for containers, rock gardens or shady borders.
