Growing guide
- Sowing
Sow seed outdoors as early in the spring as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 12 inches apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with 1/8 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds begin to grow.
- Thinning
When plants are 2 inches tall, thin to 6 to 8 inches apart in the row.
- Germination
Rosemary seed routinely germinates poorly. The seed in this packet is of the highest quality available from the current crop and will germinate approximately 50% in 60 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
- Remarks
Flavor is best before the plant blossoms. Pick leaves and sprigs as needed and use fresh or dry. Leaves may be frozen.
