Growing guide

Sowing

Plant seed outdoors as early in spring as the ground can be worked. For winter use, may be planted as late as mid-August. Plant in rows 2 feet apart, spacing seeds 4 to 6 inches in the row. Cover with ¼ inch of fine soil.

Thinning

When plants are 3 to 4 inches high, thin or transplant to 12 inches apart in the row.

Germination

Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

Rich in Vitamins A, B, and E. Requires good soil and thorough cultivation. A winter mulch of leaves or straw helps prevent damage.
