Sowing

Plant seed outdoors early in spring as soon as soil can be worked. Space seeds 3–4” apart. Seedlings do not transplant well—plant where they will remain. Cover with ¼” of fine soil and water well.

Thinning

When plants are 2” tall, thin to stand 6–8 inches apart. Eat your thinnings!

Germination

1–12 days depending on soil temperature and moisture.

Remarks

For microgreens: plant seed thickly and harvest at 2” tall. The name “Kohlrabi” means “cabbage turnip” in German.
