Growing guide

Sowing

Sow seed outdoors as early as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 15 inches apart, spacing seeds 1 inch apart. Cover with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until plants start to grow.

Thinning

When plants are 3–4 inches tall, thin to 6–10 inches apart.

Germination

Germinates in 7–10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

As heads develop, pick outer leaves off every other plant, then remove completely to allow remaining plants more space. Repeat planting every 2–3 weeks for continuous harvest all season.
