Sowing

Plant seed outdoors after all danger of frost is past where plants are to remain, as California Poppy does not transplant well. Plant in rows 6 inches apart and cover seed with 1/4 inch of fine soil.

Thinning

When plants are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to about 6 inches apart in row or bed.

Germination

Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

Easily grown in any soil and blooms profusely for a long period. Blue ageratum makes an excellent border for a bed of California Poppies.
