Growing guide
- Sowing
Plant seed outdoors as soon as ground can be worked where they are to bloom, as poppies do not transplant well. Seed is very fine and care must be taken not to bury too deeply. Plant in rows 1 foot apart or mix with sand and broadcast. Cover with 1/8 inch fine soil, well pressed down.
- Thinning
When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin 12 to 15 inches apart.
- Germination
Germinates in 5 to 10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
- Remarks
These flower in a few weeks from seed, so successive sowings as late as mid-July provide continuous flowering.
