Growing guide

Sowing

Sow seed in the spring when the ground is warm and all danger of frost is past. Plant 3 to 4 seeds 1 inch deep in hills that are spaced 2 feet apart in rows 6 to 8 feet apart.

Thinning

When plants are 2 inches tall, thin leaving the strongest plants in each hill.

Germination

10 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

Well-rotted manure mixed into the bottom of each hill will stimulate growth and increase yield considerably.
