Growing guide

Sowing

Plant the seed outdoors after all danger of frost is past. Sunflowers do not transplant very well. Plant in rows 24 inches apart, spacing seed 3–6 inches in the row. Cover seeds with 1/2 inch of fine soil, well pressed down.

Thinning

When plants are 2 to 3 inches high, thin them to 18 inches apart, in rows or beds.

Germination

Germinates in 7 to 10 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

Sunflowers require plenty of sunshine and moderate moisture. Keep blossoms picked for best results.
