🌱Sowing

Plant seed outdoors in spring as soon as the ground can be worked, or in late summer to early winter for blooming the following spring. Sow seed in a trench 6 inches deep, about 1 inch apart and cover with 1 inch of fine soil.

✂️Thinning

When plants are 4–5 inches high, gradually start filling in the trench with soil each week until the ground surface is level. Thin to 6 inches apart. If planted in the fall or winter, cover with mulch.

⏱Germination

Germinates in 10 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions. Soaking seed for 24 hours in room temperature water prior to planting speeds germination.

📋Remarks

As soon as plants are 6 inches high, train vines with string or brush (avoid wire, which burns the tendrils). Water once a week by soaking ground around vines. Keep flowers picked to prolong blooming.
