Growing guide

Sowing

Sow seed outdoors as soon as the danger of frost is past or start indoors 4–6 weeks earlier. Plant seed 1/4 inch deep and cover with fine soil, well pressed down.

Thinning

When plants are 2–4 inches high, thin or transplant to 30 inches apart.

Germination

Germinates in 5–7 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

Remarks

Zinnias thrive during hot weather in well-fertilized soil, with moderate water. One of the easiest to grow from seed. A single row will provide plenty of blooms for cutting. Satisfactory results are obtained by sowing as late as early July.
