Growing guide

Sowing

Plant seed outdoors after all danger of frost is past or start indoors 4 to 6 weeks earlier. Make a group of 3 to 5 seeds placed in a ring about 2 inches across. Cover with ½ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Each ring of seeds is called a hill and should be spaced 3 to 4 feet apart each way.

Thinning

When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to leave the 3 or 4 strongest plants in each hill.

Germination

10 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

Remarks

Plants will continue to produce tender, vitamin-rich fruit until frost if all fruit are picked before they mature.
